Tours at South Coast Botanic Garden are nature walks through the collections in the Garden that emphasize the importance of the plant world for both humans and the environment. The Garden is 87 acres - that’s the size of Disneyland (before Star Wars)!

Important Details

  • WATER! The Garden can be very hot. Water is a must for all visitors. Please be sure to bring a
water bottle for each of your students. There are water fountains at the entrance of the Garden
where students can refill if needed.
  • Clothing/attire: please dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for the Garden.
Hats and sunscreen are encouraged as the Garden is often quite hot and shade is limited.
  • Lunch/food: Schools are able to bring their own lunches for picnicking in the Garden. Your
docent or a Garden staff member will provide the picnic location. Please be sure to dispose of
all trash after lunch and leave the Garden as it was found. The Garden does have limited food
service with grab and go items (sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, sodas, water bottles).
