Excel Academy's 2019 Science Fair and Spring Portrait Day
“Because there is no Planet B”
Excel Academy is proud to announce our first science fair and cordially invites everyone to a day filled with sponsored, hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine) activities and demonstrations. There is no cost to attend and you are welcome to bring friends and families as well.
The theme of this science fair will be on conservation and environmental protection, because there is only one earth we can call home and there is no “Planet B” if we destroy our environment. We encourage everyone to bring reusable water bottles, as we will not be handing out bottled water. We would also like to encourage our students and families wear a science T-shirt or our Excel school T-shirt.
Students are encouraged to enter science fair projects. While we have some suggestions on projects related to this theme of conservation and environmental protection, students can enter any science project. They can also work as a group with siblings or friends.
Also, as we have welcomed many new families to Excel Academy since our August Back to School Celebration and Orientation, we will have a photographer taking pictures for student IDs, educator's IDs for parents, as well as spring portraits for all attendees. These photos will be available for purchase through the photography company directly.

- Curricula swap and giveaway
- Healthy snacks
- Face painting
- Balloon animals
- Meet Excel Academy approved science vendors
- Have your questions answered from the Excel Academy Vendor and Admissions Departments
- Observe the sun with special telescopes, learn about the physics of light, and search for "meteorites"
- Build a green city with Lego bricks
- Plant butterfly and bee friendly plants
- Take home live caterpillars to raise into butterflies
